Increase patient access, boost productivity, and save money
Time to add a mid-level to your practice

Our Five Resolutions for the New Year

Medical Employment Directory, your healthcare recruiting partner, wants you to know we appreciate and value your business. We are committed to being the best staffing firm in the medical field and making sure you succeed.

It's traditional to make resolutions for each new year. Usually people make them because they wish they had done something differently the year before. Ours are different.

As we begin this New Year, we take this opportunity to share our resolutions -- to continue providing the same high standard of service that you've come to expect of us. We will...

1. Save you time and money by sending qualified and experienced healthcare professionals.

2. Stay on top of the many changes in the medical field by continuing to support and attend healthcare seminars, conferences, meetings and forums.

3. Look for new and innovative methods of advertising and networking to attract only the best candidates for your openings.

4. Continue to provide personalized and professional standards of recruiting that have proven to be a key to our success.

5. Be here when you need us. Our recruiters are available when you need us -- seven days a week if that's what you need.

Have you thought about adding a mid-level to your practice?

Did you know MED's physician recruiter Leslie Tomasi is here to assist with mid-level recruiting and placement. In fact, several practices are now benefiting from mid-levels recruited by M.E.D. just last year.

Adding a mid-level can benefit the practice and physician by:

1. Expanding the practice: Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Physician Assistants (PA) can handle most routine primary-care problems, allowing the doctor to see more patients.

2. Cost-effective measures: NPs and PAs can boost productivity and save money.

3. Allowing doctors freedom to go beyond the routine. Providing a mid-level to handle the lumps and bumps needs of patients, frees the MD to on more complex cases

4. Improving patient access: Are you booked for the next three weeks? Offer your patient an option to see your NP or PA today! When patients know they will receive immediate care, it dispels frustration and anger. As a result, patient loyalty and satisfaction increase.

Use of PAs and NPs expected to increase

In 2003 there were more than 46,000 PAs practicing clinically in the United States. The number of practicing PAs has increased by 79% over the past seven years. Consider these facts:

  • In general PA's and NP's can provide approximately 80% of the services typically provided by a family physician.

  • PA's and NP's are found in all areas of medicine today.

  • The American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Physician and other medical groups support the Physician Assistant profession by actively supporting the PA Certifying Commission and the PA Program.

  • The specialists most likely to employ PAs in their practices are cardiothoracic surgeons (40%), family physicians (28%), orthopedic surgeons (27%), pediatricians (24%) and internists (21%).

  • The top five specialties using NPs are pediatricians (38%), cardiothoracic surgeons and ob/gyns (30%), family practitioners (29%) and internists (28%).

If you're ready for all the benefits that a mid-level can bring to your practice, then start 2004 by contacting Leslie Tomasi, physician recruiter at MED to discuss your needs.

Medical Employment Directory has mid-level practitioners available in multiple specialties ready to start immediately.
